Kanopy Videos

Having trouble accessing a Kanopy video?

If you select a Kanopy video title and see:

  • “this resource is only available to UHH students” then you are not registered with the library: please see these instructions.
  • “404 error”: return to the Streaming Videos page or this page and select the video title again. Not sure why this works, but it often does!
  • “cletus.uhh.hawaii.edu doesn't support a secure connection”: it's okay to select “Continue to site.”

Many computer issues can be fixed by closing all programs and restarting the computer. Also try clearing the browser cache or using a private / incognito window or using a different browser (Firefox instead of Chrome).

You can also go directly to Kanopy.com:

  • Select “Get Started”
  • Select “Find Your University”
  • Enter Hilo and select University of Hawaii at Hilo
  • Select “Log in to Hilo”
  • You should be taken to the brown UH login screen - it might open in a separate tab or window.
  • At the top left, select Search.

  • The next page will show all the Kanopy videos that UH Hilo has access to - you do not have to search for anything:
