Drew Kapp's research interests are in cultural geography, maps, and other visual representation of place. His teaching is also informed by his participation in the Uluakea faculty development program at Kipuka Native Hawaiian Student Center at UH-Hilo.
Drew Kapp has worked as a cartographic editor and contributing author for the 1998 edition of the "Atlas of Hawaii". His research has allowed him to presented his finding on pictorial tourist maps of Hawaii and on Native Hawaiian Students views of sovereignty.
