Beauty
Mona Livsey
What buxom breath these peaks do rise,
They grace the land beneath blue skies.
Mauna o WÄkea enriched as they shine,
They’ve been blessed by KÄne for all time.
Glittering beauty that will disarm,
Poli‘ahu’s sultry nature and charm,
She rules the wintry snow and ice
Sensual gifts no man will think twice.
Through fine mist they are abreast,
HaleakalÄ with LÄ«lÄ«noe to the west.
And Wai‘au in her glacial nest,
Bathe and dress her at her best.
In the winter the mountain calls,
As tapa beats and thunder rolls.
With the rain and windy storms,
KahoupokÄne, keeps them warm.
Snowy white Kīhei and Pđū of gold,
These sisters are beauties all on their own.
