An interview is a conversation with a purpose. The Education Department faculty members who conduct your interview will be asking a series of scripted questions, noting your responses and assessing your communication style and dispositions toward teaching as evidenced by the content in each response.
An excellent communication style means that you answer all parts of each question in a well-organized, well-sequenced creative, coherent response.
In assessing your dispositions toward teaching, we will specifically look for evidence of student-centered pedagogy, professional ethics and excellent interpersonal intelligence.
Our advice to you is to:
- Your personal values
- Your interests
- Your abilities and skills
- Your qualifications for teaching
- Your career goals
