History Minor

The History minor at UH Hilo provides students with an understanding of the past that allows for insights to the present. Our courses are designed to develop broad historical knowledge, global understanding, and important skills in analysis through reading, writing, and critical thinking. The minor is recommended for students from a variety of disciplines who are interested in learning more about the world, past and present. Requirements include introductory courses as well us upper-division electives.

Requirements (18 credits):

• HIST 300 Historical Methods (3)
• 5 courses (15 Credits) in HIST courses. At least 3 courses (9 Credits) must be at the 300- or 400-level.
