2025-26 Academic Year Parking Information

For the 2025-26 Academic Year, parking at the UH Hilo campus will not require permits for general campus parking between the hours of 6:00 am and midnight. This means that parking will not be restricted to specific zones, and you will not need to obtain a permit or pass for daytime parking.

Housing Parking Permits

Student residents who need to park their vehicles in Housing Parking Lots between midnight and 6:00 am (overnight) must have a valid Housing Parking Permit. Permits are issued by semester and are required for overnight parking in Housing Lots.

Overnight Parking Pass

Anyone who needs short-term overnight parking on campus, including in General Campus Parking or Housing Parking Lots, must obtain an Overnight Parking Pass. This applies to guests, non-residents, and any other individuals who are not eligible to hold a valid Housing Parking Permit. The pass is typically valid for one night or over the weekend, but specific usage may vary.

Parking enforcement will remain active year round for rule violations, including parking in prohibited areas such as grassed areas, unmarked stalls, sidewalks, driveways, fire lanes, ADA stalls, and loading docks.
