What is the UH Hilo Alumni and Friends Association?

The Alumni and Friends Association is the mechanism through which the University of Hawaii at Hilo can communicate with and serve alumni, and the alumni can communicate with and serve the university.

Who governs the Alumni Association?

The Board of Directors shall consist of fifteen members elected as provided in the bylaws and the immediate past president. Members represent various geographic areas and decades. The immediate past president, if the term for which he/she was elected to the Board has expired, shall be a member of the Board the next succeeding year. The Board based upon the recommendations of a nominating committee fills vacant positions. The directors meet at least four times a year and serve three-year terms.

How is information communicated?

The UH Hilo Alumni and Friends Newsletter is published and mailed to alumni. Information is collected from a variety of sources including faculty, staff, students and alumni. The Director of Alumni Affairs serves as editor of the publication. We also send out a weekly e-news and post to Facebook.
