The DL-STEPS program is designed to prepare residents of Hawaii to be teacher candidates for a license issued by the State of Hawaii at the secondary level (grades 7-12).
This program is designed for Hawaii residents with a baccalaureate degree who are interested in:
- becoming a teacher, or
- changing career.

Program Application Requirements
Step One: Initial Screening and Mandatory Advising - Continuous
Step Two: Application to UH Hilo -Admission possible Fall or Spring
( FYI: UH Hilo DL-STEPS student pay at the Undergraduate rate) Tuition and Fees)
Step Three: Initial Course Work - Available Fall, Spring, and Summer
Step Four: Application for DL-STEPS Cohort Coursework: ATTENTION - DUE March 1st
Step Five: Pedagogy Coursework and Field Experience I and II
