Fitness For Life - University of Hawaii at HiloHave you ever wanted to know how to find your way around the night sky? If so, this six-week course is for you! This class will share the beauty and wonder of the night sky with participants in a fun and interactive way. Along the way, participants will learn how to identify stars, constellations, and planets from both Hawaiian and western points of view. The course will be conducted at the ʻImiloa Planetarium and will also include a section on how to use binoculars and telescopes to explore the sky in greater detail. Open to anyone of any age and no experience is required! Taught by Shawn Laatsch, ʻImiloa’s Planetarium Manager. Nightwatch by Terrrence Dickenson is an optional textbook, but highly recommended, and can be found at the ‘Imiloa Gift Shop.
