Self-Discovery Through Art
UHH Home > Academics > College of Continuing Education and Community Service

Designed to use the creative process to engage participants in a deeper understanding of themselves, this five week class utilizes the innovative combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Art Therapy to facilitate understanding and correction of unhelpful ways of thinking and to reinforce new learning by producing artwork that clearly illustrates the distortion and its correction. Mental health professionals, including substance abuse counselors, school and youth counselors, will find this innovative approach engaging as it is a cognitive therapy based hands-on experiential art group. NO art background or training necessary. Facilitated by Nidhi Chabora, Nancy Jo Moses and Yukari Kunisue. Students will need their own art supplies such as markers, crayons, scissors, pencils, glue, etc.) and specific supplies will be provided by instructors.
