Whether or not you have an avid interest in politics, this short but informative class will increase your knowledge and comprehension in the U.S. National Elections. In the critical weeks prior to Election Day, Dr. Todd Belt, UH Hilo Assistant Professor of Political Science, will discuss key issues in the election process. Students will learn how to make predictions about the presidential election based on primary results, past voting tendencies, current polling and advertising. The last class meets after the elections for a final discussion on the outcomes and possible implications for our country. In addtion to the presidential race, key congressional, state and local races will be discussed as well. First class will be held on October 17 (a Wednesday) in UCB 113 but all subsequent classes will be on Thursdays in UCB 115.Fitness For Life - University of Hawaii at Hilo
