Introduction to Biofuels

Whether you want to work in the biofuels industry or grow your own biofuels in your backyard, this course is for you. Over the next six weeks you will learn why the development of biofuels is an important aspect of alternative energy solutions for the planet and about the details of the production of biofuels from diverse sources. Much of the class will be hands on in nature with a chance for you to work in a lab. You will also receive a Biofuels Production and Analysis textbook and lab manual, as part of this exciting pilot course. Led by Dr. Sonia Wallman of the NBC2, a National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Center for Biomanufacturing. The NBC2 has been nominated for a 2013 Bellweather Award for Biofuels Education and Training.
